Police and prosecutors in New Orleans never pursued charges against Saints defensive end Cam Jordan last year, for a nightclub incident in which he allegedly patted a woman on the butt, hoisted her protesting boyfriend in the air while others took pictures, and confidently declared “I can have any b---- I want.”

But that doesn’t mean the NFL doesn’t want a word with him.

According to the New Orleans Advocate, NFL Security is in town this week conducting its own investigation, and plans to talk to Jordan and local cops.

Punishment seems unlikely because there were never any charges filed, but the league wanted to take a closer look at the situation before deciding whether or not to punish Jordan under the personal conduct policy.

Maybe they’ll look at the surveillance video from the club which the local authorities watched when they decided not to charge Jordan with misdemeanor battery. Not having to wait for TMZ to pay for it and publish it should expedite that process for the league.
