Report: Daryl Smith will sign with Bucs

DarylSmith

Veteran linebacker Daryl Smith will sign with the Buccaneers, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Thursday night.

Smith, 34, started every game the past three seasons for the Ravens. He had three sacks and an interception last season and has been an ironman except for an injury-shortened 2012 season, when he was limited to two games.

Smith has started 172 of 174 games in his 12-year career.

The Ravens cut Smith, probably for salary cap reasons, before the start of free agency. He played his first nine seasons with the Jaguars, who drafted him in the second round in 2004.
