Patrick Robinson set to visit Cowboys

The Cowboys had free agent cornerback Leon Hall in for a visit recently, but he didn’t sign with the team and they’ll continue their search for help at the position.

The team announced that cornerback Patrick Robinson will be visiting Dallas on Monday. Robinson, who was ranked No. 49 on PFT‘s list of the top free agents, will be visiting at the same time as running back Alfred Morris.

Robinson was a Saints first-round pick in 2010 and played five seasons in New Orleans before signing with the Chargers last year. He had a good season in San Diego, making 49 tackles and an interception while playing all 16 games and starting 10 times. His results with the Saints were more mixed, but he’d make a solid addition to the Cowboys secondary whether they move on without Brandon Carr or not.

The Chargers signed Casey Hayward as a free agent and will likely team him with Jason Verrett at corner in 2016.

Actually Hayward was brought in to play nickel. Brandon Flowers is 1 year into a big contract and his salary this year is fully guaranteed. He was injured last year (like every other Charger) and all the beat writers who you know, actually cover the team, have said San Diego expects him to fully recover and be the starter opposite Verrett.

It will clearly show the cowboys want Byron Jones at safety if they sign this guy. I’m all for signing guys that will take time away from Mo Claiborne and help Carr see the door.

He was solid at some things last year but man coverage is not his thing. Zone all day, is where he makes his money. But don’t expect him to press cover a #1 off the line cause his hips are not there and he rarely recovers any distance. But if he plays in a zone and is in space he can close and tackle if they are in front of him. Maybe a 3 year 9-11 mill deal with 5-6 guarantee is what I would say and you will have your 3 Maaaayyyyyybbbbeeee a # 2 defensive back. Not cover corner but a DB. Might be better off as a free safety if a team was looking in that role.

keys2heat, if you are that bored that you have to ridicule the Cowboys then by all means take off the apron and get out of the house for a bit.
700levelvet, you definitely need new material, it is that same sad line every time an article comes out on the Boys. Get with me and I will help you develop a new line.

Say what you want but as long as Jerry insists at playing at being the GM the Cowboys really are a tire fire.

700levelvet…I believe is an Eagle fan. If that’s true calling the Cowboys mediocre is funny. What would you call the Eagles……
Yes there is dust on those 5 SB trophies, but at least the Cowboys have dust to settle on something…unlike the Eagles….

I don’t blame 700levelvet for chiming in on every Cowboys article with the same garbage every time. Whatever helps distract him from the complete tear down and rebuild going on in Philly after the demo job Chip did. Please Eagle fans tell us all again how great and smart Chip is.

    Ok. Got sucked in..

    700levelvetvsays

    “Most mediocre franchise in sports”

They are the thrd most valuable franchise in sports…Madrid soccer team and the NY Yankees.

I know when the 5 past superbowl wins are mentioned haters say… The dust on the trophy thing or yhat is in the past
However 13 NFL franchises have never won 1 superbowl…. That is almost half.

Even if you hate them, what a tinkle poor sports fan to say “most Mediocre”

Impressed by knowledge and insight of many posters here.
But so many are shallow haters of every team not their own.
Some those past 5 superbowl wins…. Must have been a defeat for your Daddy’s favorite team…. So you just know your hate for that reason….
