Stefan Wisniewski visited with Steelers

The Steelers didn’t have center Maurkice Pouncey in the lineup at all during the 2015 season because of a broken leg and coach Mike Tomlin said, via the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, this week that Pouncey may not participate in offseason workouts as a result.

Cody Wallace played in place of Pouncey last season, but the Steelers appear to have an eye on other options should they need to replace Pouncey for any time in 2016. Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that they recently had center Stefan Wisniewski in for a visit.

Wisniewski started every game at center for the Jaguars after signing with them as a free agent before last season. He has started all 77 games he’s played since being drafted by the Raiders in the second round of the 2011 draft.

There was a report of Browns interest in Wisniewski before the start of free agency, but there’s been no further word about since Cleveland lost Alex Mack as a free agent.

Steelers are really not very good anymore!
Sad to see a team like that get so awful!

As Bill Parcels used to say. “Your best ability is availability.”
Pouncey is never gonna play 16 games, can’t count on him, fragile for a big guy…

This guy can pass block a little but run block he gets man-handled like a fat guy would a chili dog.

At least we have a kicker who won’t choke.

Yes the steelers are awful. They just took the champs to the wire with a depleted roster. You can’t be serious.

Well, he has a Pittsburgh name.

    Mike pouncey is better

But Pouncy supports Aaron Hernandez, so he has to be good.

He’s proof positive that a name only gets you so far in the League. At some point you have to be able to strap it on and play and even “legacy” guys only get so many mulligans.

Why do you idiots waste everyone’s time with your stupid comments? Steelers will be a Super Bowl contender with year and you have “jokes”? I don’t understand you. You have zero sports intelligence

The steelers are just plain bad football these days.
Feel sorry for their fans having to watch this sorry franchise!

Just wondering when the last time the Vikings won anything? Oh now I remember……..NEVER!

I don’t hate the steelers per se, it’s their fans and their mouthy players that can’t back up the trash talk that bother me. But, make no mistake, that’s a great sports franchise that deserves to be one of the Super Bowl favorites this yr, despite a bad offseason. If you don’t get that, you’re not paying attention.

Too bad, for the one and a half games Pouncey actually started and finished for the entirety of his time in Pittsburgh, he was pretty good. Can’t help much constantly riding the pine though!
