Veteran linebacker Karlos Dansby will sign with the Bengals, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported Tuesday.

Dansby visited the Bengals last week and becomes the first outside addition to the Bengals since free agency started. The Browns released Dansby, 34, earlier this month.

He started every game last season and 28 in two seasons with the Browns. Dansby previously had two stints with the Cardinals and one with the Dolphins. He has 41 career sacks and 19 career interceptions.

Dansby brings experience and added depth to the Bengals’ linebacking corps. The Bengals lost Emmanuel Lamur to the Vikings via free agency, and Vontaze Burfict will serve a three-game suspension to start next season.
