Stevan Ridley visiting the Lions

Since cutting Joique Bell, the Lions have been looking for a veteran running back. Stevan Ridley could be the guy.

Ridley is visiting the Lions this afternoon, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

In his one and only season with the Jets last year, Ridley was a disappointment: He gained just 90 yards on 36 carries in eight games. But there was some talk that Ridley wasn’t fully healed from a torn ACL, and he’s 100 percent healthy now.

Lions General Manager Bob Quinn, who spent his entire career in New England before going to Detroit this offseason, knows Ridley well. Ridley played four years for the Patriots, including a 1,263-yard season in 2012.
