At least one of the two recent arrests of Mississippi State draft prospects has been rendered moot.

On Tuesday, the Oktibbeha County Justice Court “retired to the file” last month’s arrest of former Mississippi State defensive lineman Chris Jones. Jones was arrested for driving with a suspended license on March 17.

According to the official order, a copy of which PFT has obtained, the district court judge checked the box “retire the case to the file” on a form used by the prosecutor to resolve a case based on “mitigating circumstances.”

Jones, a potential first-round pick, now has one less thing to explain to teams. Other than that Scouting Combine 40-yard dash wardrobe malfunction.
