The Buccaneers opened the offseason with two unrestricted free agents and one restricted free agent at safety.
All three of them have opted to remain in Tampa. The team re-signed Keith Tandy and Chris Conte last month and announced Tuesday that Bradley McDougald has signed his restricted free agent tender.
McDougald was tendered at the second-round level and had until April 22 to shop for an offer from another team, but wasn’t likely to find one when signing him meant giving up a second-round pick as well. McDougald will make $2.553 million under the terms of the tender.
McDougald started 15 games for Tampa last season, recording 87 tackles and two interceptions in the most extensive playing time of his three-year career. Conte was his most frequent partner in the back end of the secondary last year, although it’s a spot the team may address in the draft before making any decisions about this year’s starters.
The Buccaneers also announced that long snapper Andrew DePaola signed his exclusive rights free agent tender. DePaola has played every game for Tampa over the last two seasons.
