Linebacker Myles Jack spent some time living in Atlanta while he was growing up and former UCLA defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich is the linebackers coach for the Falcons, so there are some connections to both the team and the city for one of the draft’s top defensive prospects.

Jack and the Falcons will find out what other connections might exist between them. Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that Jack is visiting with the Falcons.

Should the Falcons decide that Jack is the player that they want, they’ll likely have to make something happen with a trade in order to bring him to the organization. Jack is projected to be one of the first handful of players selected later this month and last year’s knee injury hasn’t done much to knock down that standing. The Falcons have the 17th pick in the first round.

Making a big move up the board to get the apple of their eye is something the Falcons did when wide receiver Julio Jones was their target. They had to give up four picks, including a future first rounder, and exchange 2011 first-round picks with the Browns to get Jones and a similar package might be needed if they are going to have a chance at bringing Jack back to Atlanta.
