Tampa Bay Buccaneers receiver and special teams standout Russell Shepard signed his restricted free agent tender with the team.
Shepard has played in 43 games over the past three seasons for Tampa Bay after going undrafted out of LSU in 2013. He spent training camp with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2013 before being claimed off waivers by the Buccaneers.
Shepard has just seven catches for 91 yards and one touchdown as a receiver, but has played significantly on special teams for the Buccaneers.
Shepard was given a right-of-first-refusal tender by Tampa Bay prior to the start of free agency. By signing the tender, Shepard will earn $1.671 million in 2016.
Defensive end Jacquies Smith also signed his exclusive rights tender with the Buccaneers.
