Falcons staffers were at Michigan State Monday for a pre-draft workout with some upper-tier draft prospects.

Falcons Coach Dan Quinn confirmed his presence with a tweet that showed Spartan Stadium and included another shot from inside Michigan State’s football facility.

Offensive linemen Jack Conklin and Jack Allen and defensive end Shilique Calhoun are among the top prospects in this year’s draft from Michigan State, which won the Big Ten and advanced to the College Football Playoff last season. With Matt Ryan entrenched as the starting quarterback, it’s not likely the Falcons are spending too much pre-draft time on Michigan State quarterback Connor Cook, who could be drafted in the first two rounds.

The Falcons pick 17th in the first round.

Coaches making visits to schools for workouts with multiple prospects has been a popular practice this year. The Cowboys have sent coaches to Ohio State at least once since Ohio State held its Pro Day four weeks ago, and the Titans have also been busy on the road.

The Falcons have spent a lot of time researching defensive prospects. Georgia’s Leonard Floyd and UCLA’s Myles Jack are top defenders who have made formal pre-draft visits to the Falcons, and the Falcons previously held a private workout with Ohio State linebacker Darron Lee.
