The Patriots didn’t want defensive tackle Dominique Easley. Neither did anyone else.
Easley, the 2014-first-round pick whom the Patriots waived yesterday, cleared waivers today, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. That makes him an unrestricted free agent.
Although Easley is undeniably talented, there have been questions about him off the field, and questions about his injury history. So it’s not a shock that no one wanted to pick him up.
Easley will surely find a team willing to give him a shot in training camp, but he’ll likely have to take a salary of not much more than the league minimum. If he can prove himself on a new team this year, perhaps he’ll make himself some money next year.
