Getty ImagesIn preparing for the draft, NFL teams always try to find out whatever they can about other teams’ draft boards, while staying quiet about their own draft boards. This year, the Ravens were able to find out a secret that the Chargers kept from the public: They loved Ohio State’s Joey Bosa.
Everyone was surprised when the Chargers took Bosa with the third overall pick in the draft. Everyone, that is, except Ravens Assistant General Manager Eric DeCosta, who announced the pick in advance to everyone in the Ravens’ draft room.
“San Diego is taking Bosa. Bosa was on the phone for two hours on Tuesday night with [Chargers Owner] Dean Spanos,” DeCosta told the room, according to the team’s website.
“How good is that information?” coach John Harbaugh asked.
“Guy who told me has not been wrong through the years,” DeCosta replied.
The guy wasn’t wrong last night, either. But the Chargers will surely be interested in knowing who spilled the beans.

Shock… the Ravens knowing something they should not know. Lets hold a $20 Million investigation and find out how, why and who, take away a few draft picks and blacken the name of the franchise… oh wait its the Ravens not the Patriots!
Good thing it wasn’t the Patriots who had that inside information.
Would have been stripped of their day 2 picks.
Everyone knew who was going #1 and #2 (not necessarily in which order). So, the Chargers were effectively on the clock. They had no reason to need to be secretive.
It’s like in the old days when the #1 pick would be signed before the draft. Except it was at pick #3.
If anyone is interested, I would say it is the NFL/Goodell.

I feel like this is par the course for the NFL, interesting they found out, but not all that shocking
It;s quite obvious not even the people who work for the Chargers like the Chargers.
Chris Berman’s cab driver was the source.
Sounds like we need another Integrity Of The Game investigation…
For every one of those DeCosta got right, he got five wrong. This is a non story.
Since the ravens drafted after the chargers, why would it matter?
just goes to show what cheaters the ravens really are, two faced at that ..
Who would know Bosa and Spanos were on the phone for 2 hours?
Someone in the Charger’s organization? They would know and it would be scandalous if it leaked from there, but very unlikely.
Likely Bosa’s agent. Nothing to see here…time to move on.
Is there anything funnier than a Patsy fan with a persecution complex?

If only that helped them draft better

Yep. A Ravens fan.
Trying to figure out what the controversy is. Is there a rule that says you can’t know what another team is picking? Were there bugs planted by the Ravens at the Chargers complex? Jerry Jones flat out asked the Ravens who they would select with the 4th pick if they did make a trade (by the way the Ravens refused to reveal that information). Was Jerry breaking the rules by asking that question? C’mon people, get a grip.
Yes. A Ravens fan with a Napoleonic complex with regards to everything NE.
Oh my they knew, lets give them a pat on the back.
Do they also have inside information on the shenanigans of one Ray Lewis III ? Enquiring minds want to know.
The fact that this story qualified as newsworthy during draft week…and that we’re reading it and commenting on it… What?? Where am I ?? How did I even GET here ??? I need to get a life!! WHO’S WITH ME ????
Ravens trying to cheat again…what else is new? When’s Goody going to investigate that dirty team? lol
The Ravens tradition, cheat where you can.
To be fair, Berman also knew it was Bosa and yelled it out right before the mic cut out.. Which I thought was pretty damn tacky so I changed over to the NFL Network. I don’t want to know who they picked until they announce it. That’s the whole reason we’re watching this..
