Lane Johnson expects Sam Bradford back this week or next

Sam Bradford hasn’t been around Eagles workouts since they traded up to the No. 2 pick in order to draft quarterback Carson Wentz, but one of Bradford’s teammates hinted that could change soon.

Right tackle Lane Johnson said on 97.5 The Fanatic that he expects Bradford, who has asked for a trade that the Eagles say they won’t make, will rejoin the team “this week or probably next week.”
“I haven’t really talked to him, but word on the street from guys that have is that he’ll be back pretty quick and be ready for OTAs,” Johnson said.

Johnson said that he didn’t think there would be any problem with teammates when Bradford does return because he sees it as a case of Bradford taking care of “his business in the offseason.” Johnson also said that he thought having Wentz on board would “bring the best out” of Bradford during the 2016 season.

Linebacker Connor Barwin and wide receiver Jordan Matthews have spoken to Bradford and share Johnson’s read on how Bradford will be received. Barwin said on the same radio station that Bradford was caught off guard and that it is “all going to work out just fine,” while Matthews said on CSN Philly that Bradford is the best quarterback on the roster and that “all the guys believe in him.”
