NFL teams are allowed by carry 90 players on their offseason rosters, so it’s a barely a limit.

But it’s still a boundary, so when one comes in, one has to go out.

The Vikings announced that they had signed Augustana running back C.J. Ham, after he tried out at last week’s rookie minicamp. Ham’s from Duluth, and led something called the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference in rushing and rushing touchdowns last year.

To make room for him on the roster, they waived safety John Lowdermilk, who is the son of former Vikings center Kirk Lowdermilk. The younger Lowdermilk was signed to their practice squad last December, after going to camp with the Chargers last year.
