Ravens withdraw replay proposal

Replay

When NFL owners meet next week in Charlotte, they’ll have one fewer proposal to consider.

PFT has confirmed multiple reports that the Ravens have withdrawn their current idea for altering the replay rules. Specifically, the Ravens had proposed in advance of the May meeting that illegal hits on defenseless players be subject to replay review.

The Competition Committee reportedly is planning to submit a proposal based on Baltimore’s suggestion from earlier in the year that the list of reviewable plays be replaced with a finite list of non-reviewable plays. Details regarding the Competition Committee’s proposal are still not entirely clear.

Any change to the current replay rules will require votes from 24 of 32 owners.
