Texans defensive end J.J. Watt made the move from the sideline to the field at Monday’s OTA practice in Houston.

Watt had surgery to repair injuries to his core muscles after the Texans’ season ended with a playoff loss to the Chiefs and spent the majority of the offseason program rehabbing from that procedure. He said at the end of May that he feels “really good” and expected to return to action soon.

That prediction was proven correct on Monday as Watt returned to practice with the rest of the team. The team shared some video of Watt going through the session and multiple beat reporters chimed in with word that Watt batted down a Brock Osweiler pass on the first snap of team drills.

Assuming he continues feeling well, Watt should work for what’s left of the Texans offseason program before moving right into training camp and, the Texans hope, disrupting opposing quarterbacks.
