Tarvaris Jackson arrested after allegedly pointing gun at wife

Quarterback Tarvaris Jackson is without a team for the 2016 season, although that may be the least of his worries in the near future.

Chris Hush of WESH in Orlando reports that Jackson was arrested for aggravated assault after pulling a gun on his wife. Hush shares a shot of the police report from the Osceola County Sheriffs Office from an officer who reported to the scene of a domestic disturbance.

Per the report, Jackson was intoxicated and loaded his gun during an argument with his wife before telling her “I’ll kill you, bitch.” Another adult who was at the house grabbed Jackson before things could escalate any further.

Jackson’s wife told police she feared for her life and grabbed an iron and knife at points for protection, but Jackson initially said nothing more than arguing occurred. He also told police that there was no gun in the house, but they found a handgun on the kitchen counter along with marijuana.

Jackson later told police he did grab a bag containing his gun and told his wife that he should shoot her. Per the report, Jackson’s wife replied that he “better be accurate because you ain’t accurate on the field.”

The Seahawks signed Trevone Boykin and Jake Heaps as backup options for Russell Wilson after Jackson filled the role for the last three years. They’ve said the door isn’t closed on a return to the team, although this incident and whatever happens next could certainly shut it.

Now that his career is officially over, my favorite memory of TJ will be the time Chris Clemons choke-slammed him in the Philly/Minny playoff game, when TJ was trying to make a tackle on a pick-six. Good times, man.

    Touché, Mrs. Jackson. Touché!

There were shots fired during this altercation; the verbal type.

Per the report, Jackson’s wife replied that he “better be accurate because you ain’t accurate on the field.”

With a comment like that from his wife i can see why TJack, a normally mellow and mild mannered man would say something like that. T Jack, im sorry you married a toxic women.

  37. bryantrulen says: Jun 24, 2016 9:02 PM

This sentence had me wonder about another Vikings QB. Does anybody know the whereabouts of Samantha Ponder? Actually on second though, I would be more worried about the neighbors or family dog getting hit instead of Samantha running in stride. I’ve seen Christian in action.

  44. hawkstradamus says: Jun 24, 2016 10:51 PM

He’s a player that had many desirable physical traits. Good arm strength, nice mechanics and solid mobility. The problem was that he was always gun shy, he never stepped up in the pocket and pulled the trigger, he’d just stand there patting the ball. I guess old habits die hard.

    Uhhhh…. psssst…. he isn’t a Seahawk… he’s a free agent.
When he was a Seahawk he never had so much as a parking ticket and was considered a great teammate. Never lost an OT coin flip either. His superb play with 0:00 on the field will be missed.

    Close but not quite.

If the gun was fired it’s the gun’s fault.
If the gun hurt or killed someone, it’s the gun’s fault.

But since the gun wasn’t fired it has to be TJack’s fault.

  58. v2787 says: Jun 25, 2016 8:30 AM

Jackson was never a good QB. When Brad Childress bet the farm on him in Minnesota, we Viking fans quickly learned that Jackson just didn’t have the goods. (Neither did Childress, for that matter, but that’s another story.) Looks like his life has take a severe downturn. Hope he can get things together and straighten himself out.

  59. r8dernation says: Jun 25, 2016 8:35 AM

Ban him for life, you know, like they’ve done to Manziel. Oh wait, pulling a gun on your wife is normal, but partying in Las Vegas is not.

  60. whatjusthapped says: Jun 25, 2016 8:36 AM

Just another in a long list of ex-Vikings in trouble with the law. The only difference is, he is also in a long list of Qb saviours that the Viking’s drafted as their next franchise Qb. Not only drafted, but traded up just to nab him, as if any of the other 31 teams was making the mistake of thinking he was really going to pan out.

BridgeH2O might be better behaved but is just as inept at losing his lone playoff appearance as T-Jack. Still all in all, I will miss T Jack’s jump passes, you just don’t see that very often in today’s NFL.

  61. snowlock2013 says: Jun 25, 2016 9:01 AM

And so endeth the last vestiges of Brad Childress’s regime as head coach. Fittingly.

There sure are a lot of stupid people in the world . When you losers make comments insulting Coach Carroll or the Seahawks organization the ONLY thing you’re doing is demonstrating your lack of knowledge and class . Coach Carroll is a man of high moral fiber and has never had a bad word to say about anybody. You can’t control all the people around you all the time. Save your little comments for your friends at school who also don’t know any better so you won’t look so crude to us big people.
