Kyle Calloway - a 2010 seventh-round draft pick of the Buffalo Bills - was killed Saturday after being struck by a train in Arizona.
According to the Cedar Rapids Gazette, Calloway was jogging near railroad tracks in Vail, Ariz. when a train hit him from behind and killed him.
His father, Ed, told the Gazette that Calloway liked to run along the tracks and was presumably crossing different portions of the tracks to avoid mud along his route.
Calloway was selected by the Bills with the 216th overall pick of the 2010 NFL Draft out of the University of Iowa. He played in three preseason game for the Bills in 2010 before being released. He joined the Baltimore Ravens during training camp in 2011 and played in two preseason games. He never played in a regular season game.
Calloway’s family said they are donating his brain for CTE research.
