The Green Bay Packers have added some additional depth at running back ahead of the start of training camp on July 25.

Per the league transaction report, the Packers signed rookie free agent running back Brandon Ross on Tuesday.

Ross signed as an undrafted free agent with the Minnesota Vikings in May but was released after a few weeks.

Ross rushed for 958 yards and 10 touchdowns in his senior season at Maryland and was an honorable mention All-Big Ten selection.

Ross joins Brandon Burks, John Crockett and Don Jackson as backs competing for a third-string role behind James Starks and Eddie Lacy.
