Eddie Lacy isn’t the only Packer trying to lose weight this offseason.

Tight end Richard Rodgers is also slimming down. The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports that Rodgers, who is listed at 257 pounds, was playing at 272 pounds last season. This offseason the Packers wanted him to lose weight.

“He’s been working with [Packers strength and conditioning coordinator] Mark Lovat and the nutritionist to try and keep his weight where he feels comfortable [it] will allow him to move better,” Packers tight ends coach Brian Angelichio said. “Honestly, until the pads come on, it’s hard to really judge that.”

Rodgers caught 58 passes for 510 yards and eight touchdowns last season, his second in the NFL.
