Peyton Manning can’t just be retired and play golf.
After dropping in on the Saints training camp, Manning has made another appearance at Dolphins camp, where he’s checking in with old pal Adam Gase.
According to Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald, Manning gave a seven-minute talk with the entire team Sunday night, and spent longer with the team’s quarterbacks before attending practice Monday.
“For him to swing by was great; he always has a good message to deliver to the guys,” Gase said.
Gase and Manning are tight from their time together in Denver, with the new Dolphins coach attending his recent retirement party. Manning has made multiple appearances with the Dolphins this offseason.
While it gives the retired quarterback a chance to see training camp without having to be in training camp, it’s also homework for a guy who is known for his study habits.
He’s decided to take a year off and not pursue television, and a lot of people close to him think he’s looking for a team to run, John Elway-style. If that’s the plan, hopscotching around the league to see how others do things will provide valuable background for him.
