Brock Osweiler acknowledged he wasn’t crazy about being replaced by Peyton Manning last year, after Broncos executive John Elway said he was “bent out of shape” by the move.

But that’s also a “what is he supposed to say?” kind of question.

“The only thing I would say is what kind of competitor wouldn’t want to play in that situation?” Osweiler said, via Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle. “Outside of that, I think I’ve answered all of those questions.

“We’re now in August, we just had a great training camp practice and I’m excited to play the 49ers coming up.”

There’s no point in Osweiler miring himself in Broncos business, as no one should be surprised he wanted to play after winning five of his seven starts.

Likewise, there’s no reason for the Broncos to be surprised he took Houston’s four-year, $72 million deal, leaving them with a pair of co-starters in Mark Sanchez and Trevor Siemian.
