After a dismal performance by the starting offense last week, Dolphins head coach Adam Gase said that he knew people were itching for better results but that the new staff was still evaluating players as part of the process of implementing a new scheme.

Patience only gets you so far with the regular season drawing closer. Offensive coordinator Clyde Christensen said as much when he called the next two weeks “huge” for the team’s offense and quarterback Ryan Tannehill is taking a similar stance about the timeline for things to start getting better.

“It’s now or never,” Tannehill said, via the Miami Herald. “It’s time to go. I think we feel that urgency. This week has been a good week for us. I think we got a lot better.”

Tannehill said he’s seen “great strides” over the course of this week and the team will get a chance to show them off against the Cowboys on Friday night. Given the low public opinion of the Cowboys defense, failing to do so will likely lead to the kind of response that makes it hard for Gase to make a second call for calm by pointing to the process.
