There’s still some time before the first roster cutdown to 75 players, but the Patriots have pared three players from their 90-man roster on Monday.

The most recognizable name on the list is tight end Bear Pascoe. Pascoe signed with the Patriots just before the start of camp and he played in both of the team’s preseason games without recording a catch.

Pascoe played for the Giants from 2009-2013 and followed that run with one-year stints in Atlanta and Detroit. He’s primarily been used as a blocker and could fill that role elsewhere depending on how rosters shake out in the next couple of weeks.

The Patriots also released safety Cedric Thompson, a 2015 fifth-round pick of the Dolphins who spent last year on Miami’s practice squad, and defensive back V’Angelo Bentley. Bentley signed with the Patriots as an undrafted free agent in May.
