The 32 teams in the NFL all got down to the 53-man roster limit on Saturday, but those are far from their final rosters or even the rosters they’ll take into the first week of the regular season.

Waiver claims and free agent signings will turn Saturday celebrations into Sunday disappointment for many players at the bottom of rosters. One place where a free agent signing seemed certain is in Green Bay, where the Packers closed their day of transactions without a long snapper.

That hole is expected to close on Sunday with the return of a familiar face. Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com reports that the Packers will re-sign Brett Goode.

Goode was Green Bay’s long snapper in every game from the start of the 2008 season through their 14th game of the 2015 season. That’s when Goode tore his ACL, leading the Packers to sign the now-released Rick Lovato. Goode worked out for the Packers Saturday and, per Demovsky, passed a physical, which cleared the way for his return.
