Danny Amendola feels “ready to roll”

The Patriots kept four wide receivers on their 53-man roster and two of them had injury issues that kept them from participating fully or at all during practices this summer.

Malcolm Mitchell hurt his elbow in the team’s first preseason game and Danny Amendola was on the physically unable to perform list until cutdown day as he recovered from surgeries on his ankle and knee. Amendola has been practicing the last few days and says that’s enough for him to feel confident that all will be well on the field against the Cardinals on Sunday night.

“I feel good,” Amendola said, via NESN.com. “I’ve been preparing a lot. I feel strong, feel fast, so I’m ready to roll.”

Amendola’s absence this summer meant he missed out on extended time with Jimmy Garoppolo, who will start the first four games of the year while Tom Brady serves his suspension. Amendola shrugged off concern, saying they will “get out there and practice as much as we can” before the season gets rolling in Arizona.

Amendola and Gronk didn’t play in the preseason, and Edelman barely played. Garappolo isn’t as good as I thought he was. The D is better than people think, and the Pats are hard to blow out, but this could get ugly. On the other hand, even with Brady it would have been a tough gm to win. Arizona is the real deal.

Are those regulation gloves? I think some of the stripes are too close together. Also, the Velcro might be too small. We need a 6 month investigation to get to the bottom of this scandal.

I’m so glad I’m with a REAL MAN’s team like the 4 time World Champion Patriots and not a puny little wussy team like the others!🙂

Why be with a zero when I can be with a hero!

Oh that has crossed their minds, trust me.

That’s what Wussies do. Make every excuse in the book and not own their shortcomings and faults. And That is why I look forward to another 15 years with my team being the biggest dog on the NFL block🙂

I’m sure Danny & all the the rest of the receivers are working hard with Jimmy to get the timing down….yes I expect some rust but also some great game planning by the coaches both on offense & D…..

They have Gronk, Bennet for two TE sets and I think we’ll see AJ Derby used split out and quite possibly Clay Harbor used that way as well. Definitely doing to be some 3 TE sets I think

Garrapollo will be managed the same way Brady was early in his career. Brady didn’t start out the gunslinger he turned into. There were a lot of very close games his first few years. Lots of Pats victories in 2001-2004 with heart attack endings

Very nice, Cassell took over a 19-1 team that returned nearly everyone, and went 11-5 with a cupcake schedule. See MCassell 2009-2015. Can’t always drink the kool-aid.

The point is Cassel looked absolutely dreadful in that preseason – far worse than JG – and became a very serviceable starter which is all we need JG to be. In fact MC was more than that. Once Weis simplified the offensive system he was rather good in it.

    You can’t judge a guy by preseason.🙂

It is kind of unfortunate that Pats fans are so quick to dismiss Cassell’s accomplishments that year. The Pats really were playing very good football in December including an absolute clown smashing of the soon to be NFC Champions. Had they snuck in the playoffs… who knows?

I realize it’s in response to the dopey anti Brady comments from the uninformed but we all should know by now that anything that Brady Hater says is just to be laughed at and not taken seriously.

Each year, with the coming of fall, the weather gets a little cooler, the birds begin to fly south, the leaves change colors and the haters predict an end to the Patriots dynasty.

Its a cycle as old as time itself.

I wish they DID rename it Tom Brady Field but they wouldn’t get the revenue it collects from Gillette so it will remain known as the Razor…
But if any QB was worthy of having a stadium named after him it’s TB12….
Josh will have a well put together game plan VS AZ….should be a great game!!!

“Garappolo isn’t as good as I thought he was ”

An aging Carson Palmer doesn’t scare me. The Pats /Cards game will be less about Garopollo vs the Cards D than Palmer vs the Patriots D. Look for a couple of picks from the Patriots secondary.

First of all, I’m not a hater, I’ve been a season ticket holder since 1985. But, any Pats fan that thinks they’re not up against it, playing a bonifide SBowl contender, in their nationally televised home opener, with their backup QB, who’s never taken a meaningful reg season snap, is just outta touch. Not saying they can’t win or aren’t SB contenders.

I agree their D could be top 5 this year and they may hang around in a low scoring gm. But, don’t forget, Arizona lives off turnovers too.

NE fans must be excited.. Who else will they get to replace his 45 catches and 1.7 td’s that he has averaged for his career. This guy is a 3rd wr on a team with crappy wr’s at best.

First of all you are a hater, but it’s the Steelers not the Cheaties…..still a troll none the less. It’s very enjoyable to the bully get questioned by his fellow fans when he gives an accurate yet controversial opinion on the beloved exalted Cheaties opener. It’s a shame the Patriots don’t get to beat up on the AFC North every year, easily the most overrated division in football and maybe of all sports.

Two different teams winning the SB in the last 10 years. At least two teams usually make the playoffs year in and year out. AFC Least is the most overrated division. Brady is lucky he never has to play another franchise QB within the division. If he were playing during the Kelly/Marino times, he would be below a .500 player since players didn’t get to bitch and moan back then.

The AFC North also has a nice streak going of 3 playoff one and dones in a row by the division champion🙂 6 one and dones in the last 10 years.

Obviously since the AFC North is overrated just like I said it was, the division champion tends to get exposed very quickly in January. It’s a simple fact of the sport.

Contrast that to the AFC Beast who has sent a representative to the AFC Championship game 9 out of the past 10 seasons.

Glad I can educate and inform as usual.🙂

And regarding Brady… funny how he has 4 rings and those other guys have zip. Zero. Nada. None. Zilch.🙂

Patriots have a better win% vs the AFC north than they do against the east.
