Wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders will help kick off the 2016 season on Thursday night as the owner of a shiny new contract extension.
Sanders and the Broncos have been talking for some time about a deal that would extend Sanders’ stay in Denver beyond the expiration of his contract after this season and it finally got done on Wednesday afternoon. Broncos General Manager John Elway broke the news.
Excited to announce we've agreed to a 3-year extension with WR Emmanuel Sanders. He plays with intensity & we love the way he competes!

There are no financial details available at present. Sanders was set to make $5.6 million this season.
With Sanders and Von Miller signed to long-term deals, the biggest impending free agents on Denver’s roster are linebacker DeMarcus Ware and defensive lineman Sylvester Williams, whose 2017 option wasn’t exercised by the Broncos.
