The Eagles have extended their kicker for another year.

Caleb Sturgis, who beat out Cody Parkey in a training camp kicking competition, has received a contract extension through the 2017 season.

Sturgis was a 2013 fifth-round pick of the Dolphins after a good college career at Florida but didn’t pan out in Miami. He signed with the Eagles in Week Four of last season, however, and played fairlyl well, making 18 of 22 field goals and 35 of 37 extra points. In the preseason this year he made all three field goals and all three extra points.

When last we heard from Sturgis, he was missing a preseason game after he got hit in the head by a punted football. He’s having a much better day today.
