Elvis Dumervil won’t play this weekend

Both of the Ravens’ starting outside linebackers spent the summer coming back from injuries and at least one of them won’t be playing against the Bills this Sunday.

Elvis Dumervil told reporters on Wednesday that he will not be in the lineup for the first game of the regular season. Dumervil had foot surgery this offseason and resumed practicing late in August. He said that he suffered a setback on his way back to full health, necessitating the delayed return to game action.

Dumervil’s partner at outside linebacker Terrell Suggs missed all of last season with a torn Achilles and returned to practice about a week before Dumervil. All signs have pointed to Suggs playing against Buffalo to this point.

Albert McClellan and Za’Darius Smith are the top backups at outside linebacker.

No offense but maybe he shouldn’t have been touring the world this summer with a bad foot and back at his employer doing rehab. Do what you want but traveling to 3rd world countries probably didn’t help his recovery.
