The Vikings are going to keep the Titans guessing as long as they can about the identity of their starting quarterback for Sunday’s opener.
But Titans coach Mike Mularkey isn’t convinced that recently arrived Sam Bradford won’t be ready to go, though there have been signs that Shaun Hill is their choice.
“The number of starts [he’s had], he’s a very intelligent quarterback, he’s faced this defense before,” Mularkey said, via Ben Goessling of ESPN.com. “They wouldn’t give up a [No.] 1 and a [No.] 4 to have him sit very long. He’s had a very good preseason – really, both the quarterbacks had good preseasons.
“I would anticipate [Bradford starts], and if he doesn’t, it’s not going to change how we prepare.”
While the difference between Hill and Bradford this week might be minimized by Hill’s familiarity with the Vikings’ offense, it won’t be long before Bradford’s at the wheel, for exactly the reason Mularkey noted.
