Gronkowski is expected to be a game-time decision

On Thursday, Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski made waves by saying he’s week-to-week with a hamstring injury. Per a source with knowledge of the situation, Gronkowski is expected to be a game-time decision on Sunday night.

The next tangible clue will come on Friday, when a label is applied to Gronkowski. With the changes to the injury-reporting rules, Gronkowski likely will be listed as questionable or doubtful. The two terms used to mean 50-50 and 25-75, respectively. Now, questionable essentially encompasses anything less than 100 percent down to 50, and doubtful covers anything from 49.9 percent down to 0.1.

Then comes New England’s trip to Arizona, at which time the Patriots will, or won’t, leave Gronkowski behind. If they don’t bring him, he’ll be out. (Duh.) If they do, the issue will go right up to 90 minutes before kickoff, when the inactive lists are submitted.

I imagine if he plays the Patriots will be fined 2 million dollars and loose our first round pick next year and Gronk will be suspended the next 4 games.

Doubtful it is, then. 49.9% is pretty much 50-50.

can billy belly still lie and cheat the injury report with the new rule, or did they change it so he couldn’t?

Gronk as always will miss at least 8 games this year while pats* fans tell you how he didn’t miss one.

At what point does he start getting the “injury-prone” label?

Seems like this guy is always out for something…

Be smart Gronk, don’t go out their without Brady on one leg, Bill will cut your broken down a$$ in a heartbeat the first chance he gets….take two games off, play two games to get in shape and be ready for when your boy returns….I would give the same advice to Edelman and Danny boy, Garoppolo is going to get someone killed out there….

Love the Gronk (even as a non-patriots fan), but he is always an injury risk.

  18. vikingsdefineaverage says: Sep 8, 2016 6:28 PM

God this guy is a piece of work. Time to never draft him again in fantasy.

This is just a slap in the face to the rules committee. Patriots will list him and others as questionable/doubtful all season just like they have in the past but the rules committee will continue to change them enough to impact this pack of cheaters

I don’t think the Cardinals care. Only have to cover Gronk and Edelman, when they are equipped to cover 6 skill players. Garapolo is the QB. So what if it’s just one instead of two?

Only hope for Pats fans is their defense keeping it close, which will be tough in an away game vs a top 5 offense that returns every guy who gained a yard or scored a TD on offense.

Despite the fact he’s played less than 8 games only once in his six seasons…

Clearly arithmetic isn’t a staple of Florida education.

Gronkowski has played in 80 of a possible 96 games. He missed 5 games with a snapped arm in 2012, 9 in ’13 with a blown ACL and missed one in each of the last 2 seasons.

Do a little research man, it’s really not hard. In fact, just scroll up, someone did it for you. He’s missed exactly 2 games in the last 2 years. Yes he missed time with a blown out ACL (apparently that’s fragile to you?) and a broken arm…..3 years ago.

I guess the biggest difference between Gronk and Lee is that, well, Gronk actually plays in the games, seems like an important difference

    Gronk is a Beast – he’d play with 2 broken legs ! –
but his Dad makes ALL the decisions concerning whether he’ll play or not – NOT Bill Belichick
Papa Bear Gronkowski is firmly in control of Robs future!
