Jamaal Charles doubtful for Sunday

The Chiefs will open the season without their top offensive weapon.

Kansas City running back Jamaal Charles, who is still recovering from the knee injury that ended his 2015 season, is officially listed as doubtful for the opener against the Chargers on Sunday.

Charles is “probably not going to play,” Chiefs coach Andy Reid said today.

Although there was optimism at times this offseason that Charles could be ready for Week One, Reid has insisted that the team won’t rush him back until he is completely ready. That means Charles will be on the sideline in street clothes on Sunday, and the Chiefs will split the running back snaps among Charcandrick West, Spencer Ware and Knile Davis.

The Chiefs proved last season they can effectively run the ball without him. Save him for when he’s good to go.

Trade him while he’s still tradeable. Cheifs didnt miss him at all last year. His best days are long behind him. Thanks for the memories.

No reason for him to play. They beat the Chargers without him last year.
If they can’t beat the Chargers without him this year, they aren’t going anywhere.

    …then they aren’t going anywhere.

No Houston, Berry’s not up to speed and Gaines is going to get worked over by Rivers.

Blown knee, many miles. He’s pretty much done and honest Chef fan knows it.

Their kicker could run for 120 yds against the Charger’s D.
    Pagano must go.

Too bad. Charles was a premiere Monkey Organ grinder act. With all that is going on with these black players I Thank them n. Have not seen Monkeys dancing around since I was young. Glad to see the acts revived.

And to think fans were outraged by Marshall Faulk’s suggestion that the Chiefs trade Charles. Maybe just maybe he knew what he was talking about. The guy is injury prone and makes too much money.

Good. Though I hope he gets better, I got S. Ware for a steal in both fantasy leagues.

LOL its hillarious how people are saying hes done and to many miles on him..
After his first acl tear he had one of his best seasons…

You forget he is the all time YPC leader in the history of the NFL…
Also he was not used much early in his career and has alot less milelage on him then alot of other running backs
As soon as he steps on the field he will be back to elite form I am not worried at all… There is no use rushing him back if hes not 100% we are find with spencer and ware especially against the chargers.. We need him to be fresh for later on in the season and especially the playoffs

    ware and west that is

Cap casualty on the horizon. Similar result at a 15% cost of Charles’ deal is the going rate.

    Great back.
Give him time to fully heal.
