Julio Jones “ready to go” for Week One

Falcons wide receiver Julio Jones said in August that he believes getting 2,000 receiving yards is difficult but that it’s a possibility if everything goes right during the regular season.

Missing games would go in the opposite column from everything going right, but that’s not going to be a worry for Jones this weekend. Jones started the week as a limited participant in practice because of a preseason ankle injury before moving up to a full workload and coach Dan Quinn said Friday that it is all systems go for his top receiver.

“Really, he was feeling good yesterday and today,” Quinn said, via ESPN.com. “It was just an important part to stay true to the process of getting back where he’s healthy and feeling right, make sure that he got the right stuff that he needs for the plays to make that connection between him and Matt [Ryan] feel right. He had a good week, and he’s ready to go.”

The Falcons will be without first-round pick Keanu Neal against the Buccaneers as he recovers from knee surgery. Recently signed safety Dashon Goldson is questionable with a hamstring injury and running back Terron Neal drew the same designation because of an ankle problem.

This guy is always injured it seems. You have to question the wisdom of moving up in the draft and giving away so many picks to get him. A WR does not impact the game that much no matter how good he is.

He is probably the only player on the falcons who isn’t trash

Julio is a beast when he’s healthy. But he’s also someone the Bucs have handled just fine. Bring it!

Patsfan4lifebchamps are you mentally ill? You know what the browns got from the trade that the Falcons made to get Julio? No, I didn’t think so. FYI, the browns got TWO NFL starters out of the 6 picks they got from the falcons. Also, both those players aren’t even on an NFL team anymore. See what happens when you actually take the time to do research on something instead of stupidly blurting your uninformed opinion. If you really think 6 draft picks that ended up all being busts is better than Julio Jones you need to be institutionalized. Another thing, you’re complaining about injuries? Gronk can’t get through more than half a season with hurting something. Typical uninformed Pats fan poisoning the rest of us with their illogical, uninformed, and collectively moronic statements.
