Steelers wide receiver Markus Wheaton did not practice Saturday and has been ruled out of Monday night’s game vs. the Redskins.

Wheaton has been battling a shoulder injury. He caught 44 passes last season, a career-best five for touchdowns.

Wheaton is the starter opposite All-World wide receiver Antonio Brown. Either second-year man Sammie Coates or veteran Darrius Heyward-Bey will replace him in the starting lineup.

Also ruled out for the Steelers are fullback Roosevelt Nix, backup offensive lineman Cody Wallace and defensive back Senquez Golson, who’s expected to miss significant time due to a training camp foot injury.

This is his NFL audition year cuz like Mike Wallace he knows this is his last year in Pitt. The Steelers have just simply drafted too well at WR to keep him around.

Eli Rogers aka AB 2.0 is next up!

The Steelers will be forever known as the team that lost to Tebow in the playoffs.

  3. clashpoint says: Sep 10, 2016 2:25 PM

Whew, WRs Bryant & Wheaton, RB Bell, FB Nix and TE Green out for the start of the season. That’s a better set of skill players than nearly every team in the league could put in their starting line up, and Pittsburgh is STILL going to roll. Next men up!

    Go Steelers!

The Steeler will be forever known as the team that lost to Tebow in the playoffs just like the Patriots will be forever known as the cheating team with asterisks next to their SB wins

  6. tedmurph says: Sep 10, 2016 2:44 PM

Yup, no TE, backup RB, budding HOFer SCoates trying to run the right routes and hoping not to fumble, Heyward-Bey, who can’t catch, and an undrafted rookie, who’s AB 2.0. All on the road against, a home underdog on national TV, who’s a big sleeper team this year. With a suspect D. steelers are gonna roll? I may come outta retirement for this one.

And the pats will be forever known to have been beaten by jump ball joe and noodle arm manning in the playoffs

  8. tedmurph says: Sep 10, 2016 3:08 PM

Pats will forever be known as the team that went to the SBowl 6 times in 15 years during the salary cap era(and counting), which has never been done. Not by the steelers, 49ers, Denver or Dallas. And had the best QB and HC that ever lived.

  9. coolhandgianluca says: Sep 10, 2016 3:17 PM

I’m a steelers fan but ppl hyping up Coates & Rogers as the next AB or HOFers is ridiculous.

The Steelers will forever be known as the team that
    Has 6 Super Bowl Rings
    Has 18 HOF Inductees
Hasn’t had a losing season in the past 12 years
Has 3 Super Bowl appearances with 2 wins in the last 10 seasons
Has 10 Playoff appearances in last 15 years

    There, fixed that for ya!

Ya one of those experts last year said the Pat’s owned Wade Phillips led defenses…so how did that work out?

Wth is this “All World” nonsense?

  18. tedmurph says: Sep 10, 2016 4:29 PM

I’m no expert, but I correctly pointed out that NEngland was 5-1 against WPhillips defenses, averaging 30pts/game. 100% accurate, as usual. Made no predictions, just pointed out facts. Yeh, they lost the game at the end when they couldn’t convert a 2pt conversion. After their beat up, poorly coached OLine couldn’t block Denver. Oh well, when you tie the record for your 6th straight AFCC gm, you’re bound to lose one here or there. Unless they draw the steelers.

Redskins going to role. Too many weapons and too few for the Steelers.

    Pretty simple observation.

    Redskins by 17.

To all those not familiar with TedMurph he tends to backpedal almost as fast as Kapernick and lie like a teenage sneaking in the house after curfew. And a Teddy stop making excuses it makes you look small..er. Your carefree attitude when caught lying is very cute. Just be around to face the music if you wrong.

Just as I thought, can’t back up his own statements and name a lie. Knows where the emojis are though. Now I’m curious about the gender. Can’t even get thumbd up on his home course. Making steeler fans proud. See you next time I post, my groupie.

The only thing that will stop the Steelers this year will be suspensions and injuries and this game will showcase both.. They are going to double AB all night and shadow Williams out of the backfield. Unless the Steelers defense can hold the Skins to 17 points, I don’t see them winning this one.

Nothing before the salary cap is that impressive. Players were held hostage. That includes Denver’s first 2 SBs** because they went uncapped those 2 years.

Just like baseball before free agency. ZZZzzzzz….

The rest of the teams also used but didn’t get there at all or lost if they did. Just bringin’ it back to everyone is equal when it comes to this so all were equal when the wins happened. If you think you can, prove any of it but include the whole league, not an individual. You’re under a rock if you think otherwise or a Goodell lover believing it’s the person and not the league.
