The Texans will likely avoid an upset in their home opener against the Bears. The Texans also have likely avoided a serious injury to linebacker Brian Cushing.
Per a source with knowledge of the situation, Cushing is week-to-week with an MCL sprain in his knee. The source added that Cushing is expected to miss at least “a few weeks” due to the injury, but that at least one report of a six-week absence is “wrong.”
It’s good news for Cushing, or at least it’s not horrible news.
The Texans host the Chiefs in Week Two, with a short-week Thursday night trip to New England after that.
