Brock Osweiler’s first drive as a Texan ends with an interception

Brock Osweiler did not look like an $18 million man on his first drive as the Houston Texans’ franchise quarterback.

Osweiler dropped back on Houston’s first possession and tried to get the ball to receiver DeAndre Hopkins, but Bears cornerback Tracy Porter jumped the route and intercepted Osweiler’s pass.

The Bears marched down the field and scored a touchdown after the interception, taking an early 7-0 lead.

The Texans signed Osweiler in free agency with the idea that he can finally end their quarterback woes. But Osweiler remains an inexperienced player who has only started half a season. He’ll need some time to grow.

Houston has to hope he doesn’t have too many more growing pains today against Chicago.

Cut him! One bad drive must mean he’s garbage.

No, but after being a high pick (2nd round) in Denver — never playing well enough to see the field, then having to be replaced by a QB having a TERRIBLE season mean’s he isindeed garbage. Just as garbage as that $18M/yr contract the Texans gave him.

The Bears have zero offense and their D can’t hold up. Texans are gonna blow this open in the 2nd half.

I have to laugh at the impatience of the people writing a player off after a single drive. Talk about short attention span theater.

Yes we live in a world with lots of instant gratification in the form of on demand this and that, but in the real world of hard work and having to go at problems day after day, month after month, I can only imagine that you will go through life incredibly frustrated and with no real idea of why you’re failing at it when you’ve given something your all for a whole five minutes.

By the end of the season, it won’t even be a question if Osweiler is better than Semen.

It’s clear to see after this article and the one Smith wrote after the Texans won that he is just a Texans and Osweller hater. But that’s ok.

    Guess what Smith?
    Texans 1-0
