Chiefs rally to tie Chargers with 1:03 to play, game heads to overtime

The Chiefs looked dead when they were down 24-3 in the third quarter of Sunday’s game.

They don’t look so dead right now, though. Spencer Ware scored from five yards out with 1:03 left to play in the game and the Chiefs are now tied 27-27 on the back of 17 unanswered points.

Alex Smith has thrown for 321 yards and two touchdowns to help fuel the comeback and the Chargers offense has stagnated since the loss of wide receiver Keenan Allen to an apparent torn ACL.

San Diego will get one more chance in regulation, but we could be headed to overtime in Arrowhead.

UPDATE: 4:23 p.m. ET: ┬áIt’s overtime.
