Hey, remember that time everyone wondered if Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant caught a ball against the Packers in the playoffs a couple of years ago?
We got a less weighty version of that play in the first half of Sunday’s game between the Cowboys and Giants. Bryant went up high over Giants safety Landon Collins in the end zone and was ruled to have caught the ball in the end zone for Dak Prescott’s first NFL touchdown pass.
Replays showed Bryant didn’t have the ball secured when he hit the ground, however. The ball came loose and the 24-yard touchdown catch came off the board. There probably won’t be much lasting argument about whether he caught the ball this time around.
The Cowboys got a first down on a Prescott run, but the drive stalled and they had to settle for a third Dan Bailey field goal to take a 9-7 lead with four minutes left in the first half.
