Eric Berry added to Chiefs active roster, Joey Bosa still on exempt list

The Chiefs and Chargers each had players with roster exemptions this week, but only one of them has been activated ahead of Sunday’s kickoff.

The Chiefs activated safety Eric Berry on Saturday, putting him on the active roster for the first time since he signed his franchise tender and reported to the team late in August. He’s expected to be in his customary rolesĀ as a starter in the secondary and leader for the team’s defense.

Chargers defensive end Joey Bosa is expected to be a leader for San Diego’s defense at some point, but it won’t be this week. Not only did Bosa fail to sign a contract until late in the preseason, he’s dealing with a hamstring injury after getting in one unpadded practice with the team this week.

The Chargers have a roster exemption for Bosa through the Chiefs game, so he’ll need to be activated next week. Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that he’s week-to-week because of the hamstring, however, so the date of his NFL debut remains uncertain.

It’s a shame that no one informed Mr. Bosa that he wouldn’t be making as much as a rookie in the NFL as he did at Ohio State.

Chargers have nobody to blame but themselves. You made your bed now lay in it. Bosa may not be the second coming of JJ “Taylor Swift” Watt but there’s no reason he can’t be a solid force on an NFL defensive line for years to come. All the hate that goes his way just makes me root for him more and more.

Eric Fisher would have beat down Bosa worse than the beating he gave JJ Watt in the playoffs

That’s why teams with a brain sign their draft picks on time so they can get in football shape. San Diego’s owner would rather be stupid. He doesn’t care about winning. He only cares about saving a buck at the expense of the team.
