One touchdown was enough for the Seahawks, who struggled offensively all day but put together a touchdown drive over the game’s final four minutes and beat the Dolphins, 12-10.
The game’s only two touchdowns were scored in the final 4:12. The Dolphins took their only lead on a 2-yard run by quarterback Ryan Tannehill with 4:12 left, and Russell Wilson and the Seahawks answered by going 75 yards in 14 plays for the winning points, which came on a 2-yard pass from Wilson to Doug Baldwin.
The officials picked up a flag on the touchdown pass with no explanation.
Before the final drive, the Seahawks had managed just two field goals -- one in the first quarter, and one just before halftime -- all day. Though they ended up with a significant advantage in total yards (352-222) and first downs (21-11), they turned the ball over twice and couldn’t sustain drives.
Wilson was 27-of-43 passing for 258 yards. Baldwin led all receivers with nine catches for 92 yards.
Tannehill was 16-of-29 for 186 yards. The Dolphins kept running back Arian Foster busy; he ran 13 times for 38 yards and caught three passes for 62.
The Seahawks are at the Rams next week. The Dolphins are on the road again, at New England.
