Russell Wilson on ankle: A little sore, I’ll be alright

Mike Florio worries about Seattle's quarterback situation if Russell Wilson is hurt. The team has an undrafted rookie as a backup, could the Seahawks now also pursue Michael Vick?

Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson got up limping after getting sacked by Dolphins defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh on Sunday and had his ankle taped on the sideline while rookie Trevone Boykin took a few snaps on the sideline.

Wilson never missed a snap and was well enough to lead a game-winning drive that ended with a touchdown pass to Doug Baldwin in the final minute of the game. Bob Holtzmann of ESPN reports that Wilson had an x-ray on the ankle after the game, but Wilson didn’t seem concerned about any lingering issues when he spoke to the media after the game.

“It feels a little sore but I’ll be alright,” Wilson said, via Curtis Crabtree of PFT.

Wilson was 27-of-43 for 258 yards, a touchdown and an interception in the 12-10 victory. He was also sacked three times, but avoided trouble to gain four yards on a scramble in the midst of completing his final five passes on the game-winning drive. The Seahawks will be in Los Angeles to face the Rams next Sunday.
