Saints starting cornerback Delvin Breaux suffered a broken fibula during Sunday’s loss to the Raiders, per multiple reports.

The loss of Breaux is a significant one for a Saints defense that already had its share of issues. Though it’s too early to know if Breaux will miss the rest of the season, he’ll miss a significant amount of time.

Breaux started all 16 games last year, his first in the NFL after playing in the CFL and Arena League. He had three interceptions and a fumble recovery last season.

The Saints are left to scramble for secondary help. They list two rookies, Ken Crawley and De’Vante Harris, as second on their unofficial depth chart at cornerback.
