Randy Gregory leaves treatment center, still suspended three more games

Cowboys pass rusher Randy Gregory was removed from the team’s reserve-did not report list Monday, a sign that Gregory is out of a treatment center.

He’ll remain on the reserve-suspended list and is suspended three more games for violating the NFL’s substance abuse policy. That suspension was announced last February.

Gregory entered the treatment center sometime before training camp.

Gregory slipped to late in the second round in the 2015 draft because of his off-field issues. The Cowboys drafted him at No. 60 overall and he played in 12 games last season. He did not record a sack.

Thanks for screwing the team, Gregory. You’re a real professional.

    The kid has talent.

It remains to be seen if he wants football more than he wants weed.

Jerry does that for your team every year, Gregory is just a piece of the embarrassment that makes up the Cowboys ridiculousness.

He will be healing on JJ”s ranch.

Randy will be a beast when he returns. He’ll be more focused on football than weed, now that greg hardy is no longer in the Cowboys locker room.

If Gregory is paying attention, he’ll know that if he goes out and beats a woman nearly 2 dozen times, Roger Goodell will take pity on him and knock it down to a 1 game suspension

Though I guess maybe that only applies if you play on a team owned by John Mara

Addiction is a disease. He is not doing this on purpose. Either you support him or you shut the hell up and let it play out. You have no idea unless you have been there. And anyone who has been there would not make the kind of comments I see above.

The Cowboys drafted him knowing his history. He is getting help. Football is the least of his worries. The Cowboys knew the risk in signing him.

For the unknowing and/or uncaring “fans” to comment about his “weakness” or the Cowboys “stupidity” or “screwing” the team is just their intellectual bankruptcy on display.

Addiction controllable with professional help. Rarely can it be conquered alone.

I wish the best to Mr. Gregory in dealing with this demon.

The good news is he is out of the treatment center.
The bad news is the treatment center now has a leadership void.

He’s a wastoid…time to give up on him. Getting paid to play football is just his way to fund his pot addiction.

He’s high as i write this. As a lifelong cowboy fan this is truly a team of imbeciles led by a puppet of a coach and the worst narcissist onmthe planet. Sad.

So why are you talking about him? Talk about him when he gets his butt back on the field. If he can stay on it.

Alright he’s out that means he’s good to go, time to get it together. Before he got injured last year, the kid was a beast, I expect him to get there eventually. He’s fully healed, now he just has to get back in the game. This team really needs you, and he needs to realize he was brought here for a reason. If he can get it together expect big things from him. Hopefully he wins his appeal and him and D Law are back week 5. They can be difference makers.

    Cowboys have strange draft picks.
Do they vet or just throw darts

  15. r502 says: Sep 12, 2016 9:55 PM

Still remember draftniks proclaiming Jerry a shrewd drafter for getting such great ‘value’ for Gregory in the second round.
First and foremost, the guy can’t play at this level. Secondly, the fact that he is allowed to remain on the team despite his lack of talent and multiple failed drug tests says that the Cowboy’s culture is a flat out joke.
You can suck on the field and be and get suspended for dope and still be on the team. And Gregory is not the only one!
    Nice Org Jerry,

I don’t get the logic of leaving treatment when you have 3 long weeks without support. Seems very unwise.

jerry jones, coach/owner/doctor/p.r.flak stated that randy is a team leader, and that he learned his leadership skills from rolando mcclain and greg hardy last season….
