Sammy Watkins: I’m definitely playing this week

Bills coach Rex Ryan said on Monday that the team would see how wide receiver Sammy Watkins‘ foot is feeling as the week progresses before deciding if he’ll be in the lineup against the Jets on Thursday night, but Watkins says there’s no reason for suspense.

Watkins spoke to the media on Monday and said that he is “definitely” going to be in the lineup as the Bills try to avoid an 0-2 start to the 2016 season.

Ryan said that Watkins told the medical staff that his surgically repaired foot was sore after the game and Watkins reportedly had x-rays to see if there was anything that would require further attention. Watkins said that his foot felt “tired,” but that everything checked out after a closer look.

While the short week may not be the best prescription to enliven a tired foot, it still adds up to good news for a Bills offense that can’t afford to lose Watkins for any extended period of time.

Bills are terrible. Rex Ryan is a terrible Head Coach.

I feel bad for Bills fans. Sammy should sit out but Rex is going to run him into the ground.

Rex personally examined the foot and said that it looked really good.

Good to know he’ll actually be playing this week.

    Unlike yesterday.

I am not worried. The team was dealing with injuries from OTA’s through the preseason… The starters had very little time with one another, especially since Rex barely played them as a whole group. They need time to gel and get timing down… that is why they had such a poor showing week 1. That and they were playing on the road. This Thursday they are at home and should be ready to go. I expect we’ll see the ground & pound gameplan which should open up the pass and give Tyrod Taylor what was missing in Baltimore… open receivers. No worries… this team has a lot of talent.

I understand being frustrated by the anemic offense yesterday, but my concern for the Bills was the defense, and they played better yesterday than they did in almost any game last year. The offense will be alright, the defense was the issue, and I like what I saw yesterday.

Cool. And it really does not matter

Relax – we’re sandbagging Revis into thinking Sammy’s got a bad ankle for Thursday night – then I’m gonna make him look like a 31 yr old has-been!
All part of my master plan…. -Rex Ryan LOL!

Is this how you beat tyrod? Stack the line and play the safeties deep? Ravens know him best. Tyrod better get over his reluctance to throw over the middle quickly.

How does one become an NFL coach? It seems obvious to throw it to Sammy Watkins. You throw to him, he catches it, you score points. Simple right?

It’s good to know that he is going to play on Thursday cause he sure didn’t play on Sunday. I really hope Rex isn’t doubling as the Bills foot Doctor as well.
