Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger has thrown two touchdown passes, and the Steelers masterfully drained the clock on their second touchdown drive.
They lead the Redskins at halftime, 14-6.
The Redskins have been in Steelers’ territory four times and have just two field goals by Dustin Hopkins to show for it.
The first touchdown was a fourth-down bomb to Antonio Brown, who stole it from two defenders. On the second, which came with just 27 seconds left in the first half, Roethlisberger threw a pass to Sammie Coates that deflected off Coates and into the hands of Eli Rogers.
Rogers sat out all of his rookie season with a foot injury, but he’s been a factor tonight. The Steelers are playing without injured starting wide receiver Markus Wheaton.
Roethlisberger is 16-of-21 passing for 151 yards with two touchdowns and an interception. Redskins quarterback Kirk Cousins is 12-of-18 for 146 yards.
The Steelers chose to defer to start the game and will get the ball to start the second half.
