The Browns placed quarterback Robert Griffin III on injured reserve Monday, leaving them with an open roster spot heading into their second game of the 2016 season.

They aren’t filling it with a quarterback to go with Josh McCown and third-round pick Cody Kessler, though. Cleveland’s opted to add to their defensive line group instead.

The Browns announced that they have promoted defensive tackle Gabe Wright from their practice squad and added him to the active roster. Wright was picked in the fourth round by the Lions last year after they dealt a 2016 third-round pick to the Eagles to move into the spot, but Detroit cut him on their way to 53 players this year.

Wright had six tackles in seven games for the Lions during his rookie season. He is one of eight defensive linemen on the Browns’ active roster.
