49ers offensive lineman Anthony Davis didn’t take part in the team’s practice on Saturday, a development that was followed by reports that Davis was thinking about walking away from the team for the second time since the end of the 2014 season.

It didn’t take long for Davis to decide to remain with the team and Davis was in uniform for the 49ers for Monday night’s 28-0 rout of the Rams. He played the final three snaps at right tackle in place of Trent Brown, although he’s been spending time at right guard since returning to the team this summer after sitting out the 2015 season. Coach Chip Kelly called on the uncertainty about Davis’ plans the result of miscommunication.

“It was just a miscommunication,” Kelly said, via CSNBayArea.com. “I had a long talk with Anthony on Saturday and everything has been ironed out. He’s good to go. It was a miscommunication between myself and Anthony and we don’t have a miscommunication any longer.”

Andrew Tiller started at right guard for the Niners, something Kelly said was his decision when faced with going up against “a pretty formidable front” with Davis just getting back on the field after his self-imposed layoff.
