The Seahawks are adding a quarterback, and the quarterback they’re adding makes it clear they’re confident about Russell Wilson playing this week.
Per Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, the Seahawks are signing Jake Heaps to their practice squad, giving them another live body for practice besides rookie backup Trevone Boykin.
Heaps, who is from the Sammamish, Wash. (which reminds me it’s time for lunch), was in camp with them earlier this offseason.
Heaps was in camp with the Jets last year, and played collegiately at BYU, Kansas and Miami.
Wilson suffered a sprained ankle last week, but he and coach Pete Carroll have insisted he’s fine.
