Steelers present autographed football to Pope Francis

Maybe the reason the Steelers beat the devil out of Washington last night was because they had God on their side.

Via Seth Rorabaugh of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Pope Francis was given an autographed football yesterday, signed by Steelers owner Dan Rooney, coach Mike Tomlin and some players.

The gift was given to the Pope by Saint Vincent Archabbot Douglas R. Nowicki at the Chapel of the Holy Spirit in Rome. It was a joint gift from the team and Saint Vincent College in Latrobe, where the team holds training camp.

Of course, being Argentinian, the Pope is more of a soccer guy, but it can’t hurt having him on their side.

Having God on your side could help, but having Roger Goodell there is better for the team.

I wonder if Ben will say as many Hail Mary’s, as part of his repentance, as he has thrown.

Uh oh I’m sure Goodell will find a way to fine Pittsburgh fire this one. Goodell hates the only team to vote against the current CBA – because of the power it gave Goodell – and the team with the linebacker who wouldn’t give Goodell a urine sample if he were on fire.

    Go Steelers!

The steelers will always look for an extra edge. It’s spiritual now and it was medical during the Steriod Curtain. At least the players won’t die early with this new method.

I’m sure Father Rydze has ‘blessed’ all the players.

“Maybe the reason the Steelers beat the devil out of Washington last night was because they had God on their side.”

If you watch that randomly caroming football that went straight to Eli Rogers in the end zone amongst a sea of Redskin defenders, I can see how one might surmise as much.
